Good Choice Brett Favre
For the last sixteen years Brett Favre has played in the NFL, he has started every game of the regular season.
He holds virtually every NFL career passing record.
So why should he retire?
That is a very good question.
Brett Favre had a better completion percentage and completed more passes as a New York Jet last year than he did in 1997 when the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl.
But the Jets were only 9 and 7 last season?
Seven times in Favre’s career prior to 2008, he won 9 or less games.
His 22 touchdowns last year were as many or more than he threw in 6 other seasons in his 18 years of playing.
So, even though he is old enough to be the father of a college student and will turn 40 years old during the season, Favre deserves another chance.
Since he has decided to suit up for Minnesota, the Vikings have sold twice as many tickets as the number one NFL ticket seller in the secondary market, the Dallas Cowboys.
And in Minnesota, Vikings fans know that when the pigskin is in the air the odds of it hitting the hands of a home team receiver are much greater than one hitting the Cowboys new scoreboard!
For the first time in my life I am going to take a special interest in the Minnesota Vikings.
Brett Favre is a great quarterback and it is exciting to see his heart beat out his head in his decision to not retire!
