Week 1 College Football Notables
To the shock and dismay of many Sooner football fans, Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford will spend the next several weeks on the sideline watching his team play.
Bradford suffered a shoulder sprain in Saturday’s loss to BYU.
Last years Heisman winner wanted to pull an Archie Griffin and double his Heisman pleasure, but that is no longer going to happen.
Oklahoma will look to Landry Jones to keep the team on course. Jones is not only named after former Dallas Cowboy Coach Tom Landry, but he is the nephew of former QB Danny White.
Sooners fans pray this will reflect on his playing ability.
Speaking of playing ability, Cinderella doesn’t play QB for Syracuse.
Former Duke point guard Greg Paulus was named the starter by ‘Cuse Head Coach Doug Marrone when he showed up to visit.
Paulus didn’t show up Saturday going 9 of 31 for 167 yards with 1 TD and a pick.
Penn State will look forward to showing the “feel good story” a look at Happy Valley.
Maybe the Dean Dome wasn’t so bad after all Gregy Poo.
And bad is what happened to Nicholls State on Saturday as Air Force assaulted them with a 72-0 bashing.
The score at halftime was 45-0.
One website said that Nicholls State was looking forward to next weeks home game against Duquesne.
Colonels fans may want to opt out of that game for a trip to Jacksonville State to watch their women’s soccer team!
